Earlier in the year, there had been talk emanating from current Formula One chief Bernie Ecclestone of the possibility of Formula One returning to Long Beach, California, for the 2015 racing circuit and beyond but the likelihood of that occurring is rapidly diminishing as Ecclestone battles bribery charges in Germany and the fact that the surface at Long Beach is too uneven for Formula One cars and would have to be consistently resurfaced before F1 races could be held there.
Formula One ran at Long Beach from 1976-83 with no single driver winning it more than once.
