Formula One Moves 2016 Malaysian Grand Prix To November

In 2016, the Singapore and Malaysian Grand Prix were scheduled back-to-back on the weekends of September 18 and 25 – but the Singapore officials were concerned that such a close scheduling of the two events would detract from their Grand Prix, so they asked Formula One to move the Malaysian Grand Prix out of their neighborhood – and got their wish. The 2016 Malaysian Grand Prix – originally scheduled for September 25 – will now be moved into the previously barren November 20 spot on the F1 calendar as the second-to-last race of the season in front of the traditional season-ender in Abu Dhabi.

The 2016 season is currently scheduled to be a 21-race season with the addition of the Azerbaijani Grand Prix in Baku on July 17, 2016.

The 2015 Formula One season continues with the Italian Grand Prix at Monza at 5 a.m. [PDT] on NBCSN on September 6, 2015.
