Formula One Moves Summer Break To Spring

Formula One’s cherished tradition of the summer break – usually reserved for the month of August – will be moved for the 2020 season to spring, due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Specifically, Formula 1’s new “summer” break will now be held in March and April, with teams choosing a three-week period within that time frame.

The change was approved by the FIA’s legislative body, the World Motor Sport Council, on Wednesday.

So far, four F1 races – in Australia, Bahrain, China and Vietnam – have all been postponed, and the next two events in the Netherlands and Spain are expected to be postponed as well.
