Formula One Set To Go Miami Vice For 2021

Get your pastel Crockett-and-Tubbs blazers ready, Formula One announced that they are planning to hold a Formula One race in Miami for the 2021 season.

Of course, it is not a done deal yet as Formula 1 says it only has an agreement in principle with Stephen Rosso, the owner of the Miami Dolphins National Football League [NFL] stadium to hold a race beginning in 2021. The proposal features a new track layout looping around the Dolphins’ Hard Rock Stadium in central Miami – entirely on land owned by Rosso.

However, before the race can move forward in the process, it must be approved by Miami-Dade County as well as overcome local opposition [about noise, pollution, traffic, etc.] to holding a grand prix in the city.

In a statement, F1 has estimated an “annual impact of more than $400m and 35,000 room nights” for the Miami Grand Prix.
