FOTA Disintegrates For 2014

The Formula One Teams Association was created six years ago as a way for the teams to organize themselves into a collective bargaining entity that could do battle with F1 chief Bernie Ecclestone should they not be happy with the direction Ecclestone was leading the legendary auto racing series. However, Ferrari, Red Bull, Sauber and Toro Rosso [both Ferrari and Red Bull junior teams] pulled out of the group three years ago and it had lost much of its meaning and the remaining teams decided to wave the white flag and disband for at least the remainder of the 2014 season.

The 2014 Formula One racing season begins with the Australian Grand Prix on March 16, 2014.
