Fresh off winning their People’s Choice Award for best action film of the year, Universal Pictures – distributors of the popular “Fast & Furious” franchise – are seeking approval from both the United States and Cuban governments to potentially film a part of the eighth installment of the film franchise in that country.
With filming set to begin this year, the film’s producers are exploring filming locations around the globe and Cuba has become a possibility, though the country’s lack of a sophisticated technological infrastructure may hamper extensive filming in the country.
“Fast & Furious 8” currently is scheduled to be released on April 17, 2017.
