With Germany Teetering, Qatar May Pick Up Slack In 2016

With the long-term viability of Germany to host a Grand Prix, Formula One has turned to Qatar to host races beginning in 2016. Two Formula One Grand Prix events are already held in the region – at Abu Dhabi and Bahrain – and with the seemingly imminent demise of the German Grand Prix, Qatar could fill in the racing calendar as early as 2016.

The location of a possible 2016 Qatar Grand Prix would be either Losail [where there is an existing MotoGP track] or Doha [where a track would have to be built].

The first race of the 2015 Formula One racing season takes place in Melbourne, Australia on March 15, 2015.
