Goodyear Creates Tire Mascots For Cotton Bowl

Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. is creating mascots out of tires for the 88th Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic college football battle between the seventh-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes and ninth-ranked Missouri Tigers.

For Ohio State University’s Brutus Buckeye and the University of Missouri’s Truman the Tiger, Goodyear has created handcrafted tire sculptures standing between six and seven feet tall and weighing in at 385 pounds. Each sculpture was created for Goodyear by Blake McFarland and took more than 280 Goodyear-branded tires to create the end products. Goodyear’s tire mascot sculptures debuted in 2015.

After the game [being played tomorrow evening at 5pm, Pacific] the sculptures will be donated to their respective schools for display on campus.
