Haas Stays With Grosjean And Magnussen Over Hulkenberg For 2020

Haas somewhat inexplicably kept both Kevin Magnussen and Romain Grosjean as their team’s drivers for the 2020 Formula One racing season.

After Hulkenberg was dropped from the Renault team in favor of current Mercedes reserve driver Esteban Ocon, Haas was widely expected to snap up Hulkenberg, but instead, Haas announced no driver lineup changes for 2020.

Haas team boss Gunther Steiner has said the decision to keep both drivers was because they were not at fault but rather the car has not performed up to standards and is not allowing the drivers to show their true mettle.

Hulkenberg currently sits in 11th place in the 2019 driver standings with 31 points for Renault so far while Grosjean and Magnussen are 16th and 17th, respectively [out of a 20-driver field] and have scored a grand total of 26 points combined [Magnussen 18 and Grosjean 8].
