American NASCAR team owner Gene Haas has expressed an interest in forming an American-run team to enter in the Formula One racing season for 2015 or 2016. Haas, who owns NASCAR team Stewart-Haas Racing, formally entered an application to be one of the new teams Formula One could admit in those years but Haas also attempted to have an F1 team in 2010 – only to have his application eventually rejected.
Applications for all teams interested in joining Formula One for 2015 or 2016 are due by the deadline of February 10, 2014 with final decisions to be made on February 28, 2014.
