Hamilton Easily Wins 2018 Hungarian Grand Prix

In a win that was reminiscent of the past Mercedes 1-2 snoozers, Lewis Hamilton easily won the 2018 Hungarian Grand Prix over Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel in second place with Vettel’s Ferrari teammate, Kimi Raikkonen, grabbing the third and final podium spot.

Hamilton began the race as the pole-sitter with Vettel starting in the second row in the fourth spot, Vettel immediately moved past Raikkonen and up to third on the race start and eventually moved past Hamilton’s Mercedes teammate, Valtteri Bottas, to grab second.

Vettel was able to inherit the lead – albeit briefly – on Lap 25 when Hamilton went in for his scheduled pit stop, but that lead only lasted until Lap 40 when Vettel then came in for his pit stop and all but ceded the race victory to Hamilton at that point. Vettel then made a late pass by Bottas to claim second.

With the win, Hamilton now leads Vettel by 24 points in the 2018 Formula One season driver standings.
