Hamilton Goes Coast To Coast For 2020 Spanish Grand Prix Victory

It was the Lewis Hamilton Show as the six-time defending Formula One world champion led from start to finish to easily win the 2020 Spanish Grand Prix. Red Bull’s Max Verstappen finished a distant second and Hamilton’s Mercedes teammate, Valtteri Bottas, finished in the third and final podium position.

Hamilton held pole position starting the race and immediately jumped off the line at the race start to cruise to the win. There was precious little drama behind him as well, with Bottas getting a poor start and both Verstappen and Racing Point’s Lance Stroll passing him on the start. Bottas eventually passed Stroll on the fifth lap and briefly traded positions with Verstappen after scheduled pit stops but essentially remained in third place for the majority of the race.

Hamilton, Verstappen and Bottas were the only three cars remaining on the lead lap at the conclusion of the 66-lap race.
