Hamilton Grabs Pole For 2019 German Grand Prix

What a difference a day makes as Ferrari seemed poised to establish a presence at the 2019 German Grand Prix after a dominating performance in practice sessions – only to have it all go sideways in qualifying – and there was defending Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton to take advantage as Hamilton grabbed the pole position for tomorrow’s race ahead of Red Bull’s Max Verstappen in second and Hamilton’s Mercedes teammate, Valtteri Bottas, in third.

Ferrari was relegated to 10th for Charles Leclerc, who suffered a technical issue and was unable to begin the final qualifying session, and 20th for Sebastian Vettel, who suffered a turbo issue and was not able to begin any of the qualifying sessions.

Red Bull’s Pierre Gasly, who crashed in the second practice session, was also able to take advantage of the lack of Ferraris in the first or second row and moved up to fourth place on the grid behind Bottas.
