Seven-time Formula One world champion, Lewis Hamilton, is launching film and television production company called Dawn Apollo Films.
Hamilton is not only the seven time world champion – which could retroactively be eight if the FiA [Formula 1’s governing body] doles out harsh budget cap penalties – but also holds the record for most F1 wins, pole positions, and podium finishes.
Hamilton has set up the production company in a collaboration with his manager, Copper CEO Penni Thow, and the new company already has two projects in the works with Apple TV+: an untitled Formula One racing film starring Brad Pitt with director Joe Kosinski [“Top Gun: Maverick”] about a driver who emerges from retirement to tussle with the F1 young’uns and, of course, a feature documentary on Hamilton’s personal journey to F1 fame.
The documentary has an expected release date of late 2023 while the movie is expected in 2024 – both will be executive produced by Hamilton.
