Lewis Hamilton led from start to finish and won the 2017 British Grand Prix while his teammate Valtteri Bottas finished second and Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen finished third.
Hamilton led the race without much drama but behind him , the fight for the remaining two podium positions was intense between Bottas, Raikkonen, Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen – in the end, late lap tire punctures to both Raikkonen and Vettel cost them podium positions – a probable second place for Raikkonen and a possible third place for Vettel, who eventually finished seventh.
With the victory and Vettel’s misfortune, Hamilton closed the overall 2017 driver’s points rankings to a single point – with Vettel holding a 177 to 176 point advantage.
