Hamilton Wins Another 1-2 Mercedes Snoozefest At 2019 French Grand Prix

Lewis Hamilton led the rest of the cars around the giant Walmart parking lot disguised as a Formula One race track called the 2019 French Grand Prix at Circuit Paul Ricard from start to finish in yet another 1-2 Mercedes snoozefest as his Mercedes teammate Valtteri Bottas came in second and Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc finished on the podium in third place.

Hamilton was also the pole-sitter for the race and was never challenged for the race lead from the beginning, gradually building a double-digit second lead over Bottas. Leclerc, starting third, only briefly challenged Bottas on the last lap but otherwise ran a mundane race behind both Mercedes. Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel started in seventh and finished in fifth, grabbing the single point awarded for fastest lap on the race’s final lap. Only six cars finished on the lead lap.

Hamilton still leads Bottas by a wide margin in the F1 driver’s season standings with Vettel in a distant third.
