After all the hubbub with Ferrari dominating the testing sessions in Barcelona, it was the same-old, same-old when it came time for actual qualifying as the Mercedes’ of defending champion Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas went 1-2 to claim the first row of the 2019 Australian Grand Prix with Hamilton grabbing the pole position.
Hamilton edged Bottas by a mere 0.112 seconds to take his sixth consecutive Australian Grand Prix pole position and both were well ahead of Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel in third.
