Denny Hamlin – racing with a torn ACL suffered from playing recreational basketball – came back from an early spin that put him a lap down and won the first of NASCAR’s 10 Chase playoff races at Chicagoland.
With the win, Hamlin automatically advances to the second round race at New Hampshire, while the last four drivers – Kevin Harvick, Clint Bowyer, Paul Menard and Jamie McMurray – are all on the elimination bubble.
