Hardware: Rivals Coming January 5th

In an interesting twist, a new title coming to the PlayStation Store will be free for PS Plus owners, and it’s a title that many might be familiar with via its predecessor. And its name is Hardware: Rivals.

Hardware Rivals, made by an internal group at Sony called CCG, is a sequel to Hardware: Online Arena, which was released in 2002 on the PS2. But more notably, Hardware: Online Arena was one of the first PS2 games to offer an online experience, and Hardware Rivals will add to that in spades.

“In Hardware: Rivals you’ll battle it out with your rivals in a range of different vehicles each with different characteristics, there’s the slow, heavy and powerful tanks or perhaps you prefer the fast, nimble but vulnerable buggies. CCG have been fine tuning Rivals since the game’s beta trial in October and have since added an additional map – Outpost 92, a deep core mining facility set in a icy tundra environment.”

Furthermore, the team at CCG have promised to have weekly community events! Along with many more maps and vehicles to come. Check out the launch trailer below!
