Harvick Holds Off Newman For First Ever Sprint Cup Title

Kevin Harvick won the Ford EcoBoost 400 at Homestead Speedway in Miami and with it – his first-ever NASCAR Sprint Cup title. Harvick entered the final race of the season in a four-way playoff with Ryan Newman, Joey Logano and Denny Hamlin and after a couple yellow flags in the final 10 laps, it all boiled down to a two-way battle with Newman that Harvick won pulling away on the final lap.

Hamlin finished fifth and Logano, after encountering late pit lane trouble when his car fell off its jack, finished a disappointing 16th.
