Harvick Seals The Deal At Darlington

Kevin Harvick celebrates his win at Darlington.

Kevin Harvick won the pole position in qualifying and had the fastest car but it wasn’t until he had the freshest tires at the end of the race that he could seal the deal and win the NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Darlington, South Carolina. Harvick seemed on his way to an easy win when three caution flags came out in the final 10 laps, creating a massive track exodus to pit lane for the contenders and it was ultimately Harvick and his four fresh tires getting past Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and his two fresh tires for the victory. Last year’s Darlington winner, Jimmie Johnson, finished third.

The next race in the NASCAR Sprint Cup series will be at Richmond, Virginia, on April 26, 2014.
