Kevin Harvick dominated and got a much-needed win at the Phoenix international Raceway and advanced to the final round of NASCAR’s Sprint Cup Chase playoff. Jeff Gordon finished in the runner-up position to Harvick but was knocked out of the playoff when Ryan Newman made a last-lap pas to finish 11th and maintain a one-point lead over Gordon. Also knocked out of playoff contention were Brad Keselowski, Matt kenseth and Carl Edwards while current points leader Denny Hamlin and Joey Logano advanced to the playoff with Harvick and Newman.
The final race of the season will be teh Ford EcoBoost 400 at the Homestead-Miami Speedway on November 16, 2014.
