How Fast Is The New Lotus 311?

The answer? Pretty fast.

Although it is essentially a Lotus Exige that has been drastically modified, the road version of the Lotus 311 [they like you to say 3-Eleven] has a reported 410 horsepower pulling its lithe 925 kilograms around. That means it is capable – with the right driver and right conditions, naturally – of going 0-60 miles per hour in 3.3 seconds and can achieve a top speed of 174 miles per hour.

Meanwhile, the non-road-legal race version touts has 460 horsepower, has a carbon composite body and thus weighs in at just under 900 kilograms. It can hit 0-60 miles per hour in a mere 2.9 seconds, do another 40 in a 3.1 seconds and max out at 180 miles per hour.

There are, of course, only 311 cars being produced and the price tag for the Lotus 311 or 3-Eleven [whichever you prefer] is $117,000 for the road version and $165,000 for the race version with delivery beginning in March 2016.
