Hulkenberg Joins Aston Martin As Reserve Driver For 2021 Season
First, Hulk was mad at not being selected as a driver for a team last year, then Hulk was sad at only finishing seventh in the 70th Anniversary Grand Prix in August 2020 after filling in for Racing Point’s Covid-19-stricken drivers Sergio Perez and Lance Stroll, but now Hulk is glad after being selected by Aston Martin [the former Racing Point] to be a reserve driver for the 2021 Formula One season.
The 33-year-old German already had a connection with Aston Martin/Racing Point as he previously was a driver for the team when it was known as Force India from 2012 to 2016.
Hulkenberg has started 179 Formula 1 races and finished seventh in the driver standings for Renault in 2018 but has yet to score either a victory or a podium in his 11-year F1 career.
