Hyundai Fares Well In Brand Engagement/Loyalty Study

Hyundai led the way in the automotive sector regarding how brands have supported consumers during the COVID-19 pandemic – specifically in terms of engagement and loyalty – according to the 2021 Customer Loyalty Engagement Index from market research firm, Brand Keys.

It was the 25th annual study by Brand Keys and it found that Hyundai collected the highest marks among the automotive sector with both engagement categories as well as loyalty categories during the trying pandemic-influenced year of 2020.

Mazda, Volkswagen, Buick, Volvo and Chrysler were the brands logging the lowest engagement and loyalty marks in the study.

For the 2021 survey, Brand Keys contacted a total of 75,804 consumers, 16 to 65 years of age from the nine U.S. Census Regions, self-selected categories in which they are consumers and brands for which they are customers. This year Brand Keys examined 94 categories and 855 brands. Forty percent were interviewed by phone and 60% were interviewed online.
