Imola Could Replace Monza In 2017

Monza is on the ropes for hosting the Italian Grand Prix past 2016 – when their current contract is up – and the Imola race track has stepped in offer its availability to host the Italian Grand Prix beginning in 2017. Imola track officials have met with Formula One chief, Bernie Ecclestone, to make their bid known while negotiations with Monza remain up in the air.

Imola has not hosted a Formula One race since 2006.

The 2015 Formula One season continues with the Austrian Grand Prix in Spielberg at 5 a.m. [PDT] on NBCSN on June 21, 2015.
