IndyCar Subs In Watkins Glen For Boston

When Boston bailed on their previously scheduled Labor Day appointment with IndyCar racing last month, the organization was looking for an Eastern track that could step in at the last minute and take Boston’s place – that track was the fabled Watkins Glen in New York.

While Watkins Glen did host an IndyCar race in 2010, it was not well received or attended, so IndyCar did not bother coming back. Then there was the matter of the Ferrari Club hosting their annual shindig on Labor Day weekend that had to be addressed.

But everything was worked out – well, we will see if the fan attendance part will work out in a few months – and IndyCar will indeed be going back to Watkins Glen on Labor Day weekend. Not only that but IndyCar officials are reportedly working toward potentially signing the Watkins Glen track to a multi-year agreement [although likely with some attendance requirement parameters, we suspect].
