Justin Lin – who directed four of the “Fast and Furious” film franchise movies – but bowed out of the upcoming seventh film to direct a “Bourne Identity” film, may be enticed to come back for a final film to finish off the series. If Lin returns to direct a final film for the franchise, it would not likely be until 2017 – or possibly late 2016 – for a release to theaters.
James Wan directed the seventh installment but he will be directing a sequel to “The Conjuring” and be unavailable in 2016 for a possible final “Fast and Furious” film.

“Furious 7” is currently slotted for a release on April 3, 2015.
