Kimi Raikkonen Leaves Ferrari And Moves To Sauber In 2019

Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen will leave Ferrari and join Sauber for the 2019 season, to be replaced at Ferrari by current Sauber driver, Charles Leclerc.

The 38-year-old Finn, who is a former world champion [albeit in 2007] has failed to win a race in five years with Ferrari and returns to the team where he made his F1 debut in 2001, signing a two-year contract with Sauber.

“Feels extremely good to go back where it all began,” said Raikkonen.

Raikkonen has won 20 grands prix wins and amassed 100 podiums in his career to date.

Raikkonen currently sits in third place in the driver’s standings with 164 points while Leclerc is in 15th place with 13 points.
