Dave Blaney was down to his last car – well, his only car, really – and now he doesn’t even have that after a crash in a practice session has taken him out of the Daytona 500. Blaney, who was the Daytona 500’s slowest qualifier and therefore was slated to start in last place in the 43-car field this weekend, was involved in a crash in a practice session this week and the crash totaled his car – his only car available driving for the low-rent Randy Humphrey Racing Team. Blaney approached other Ford teams, including Penske, Roush Fenway and Front Row, but none could or would make one of their backup cars available to him.
