Latifi Out At Williams For 2023 Season

Nicholas Latifi is out at Williams for the 2023 Formula One season, according to the team.

The 27-year-old Canadian began with the team at the start of 2020 and struggled throughout most of his tenure with Williams.

Latifi’s “highlight” was a seventh-place finish at the 2021 Hungarian Grand Prix while his lowlight was crashing late in the race at the 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix fiasco – with his crash putting into motion the string of events that would expose Formula 1’s rogue race director and cost Lewis Hamilton his potential eighth F1 world title due to the rogue race director’s manipulative actions.

Williams does not yet have a replacement named for Latifi but could be leaning toward Dutchman Nick De Vries, who impressively finished ninth at the 2022 Italian Grand Prix as a last-minute replacement for Alexander Albon after Albon was hospitalized for appendicitis.

Other possibilities include American Logan Sargeant, a member of their driver academy, who is currently third in the Formula 2 championship this season and former Alfa Romeo driver, Antonio Giovinazzi.
