Finland’s Jari-Matti Latvala took a 42.7-second lead over his teammate Andreas Mikkelsen after both he and his third Volkswagen teammate, Sebastien Ogier, made crucial mistakes early in the day. Ogier’s mistake caused him to plummet down the standings and allowed Mads Ostberg to claim third in his Citroen.
