Lotus’ Romain Grosjean Handed 20-Spot Grid Penalty For Sixth Power Unit

It was never a good season for Lotus, but it is now a fitting end to the 2014 Formula One racing season for the financially beleaguered team as their top driver, Romain Grosjean, was handed a 20-spot grid penalty for the season finale at Abu Dhabi for having to use a sixth power unit for the race.

With only 20 cars starting the race at the Yas Marina track and Grosjean unlikely to be claiming the pole position in today’s or tomorrow’s qualifying, he will most likely be assessed a timed drive-through penalty during the race.

The final race of the 2014 Formula One racing season takes place in Abu Dhabi on November 23, 2014.
