Martin Truex, Jr. Leaves Furniture Row NASCAR Team, Team Folds

Martin Truex Jr., who won the 2017 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series championship with the Furniture Row racing team, will be moving over to Joe Gibbs Racing along with his crew chief and a major sponsor [Bass Pro Shops] for the 2019 season. Truex Jr. is currently ranked third in both driver and playoff points heading into the regular season finale this Sunday at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Meanwhile, Furniture Row Racing – Truex’s winning team – has announced it will cease operations following the 2018 NASCAR season due to a lack of funding, after losing their primary sponsor [5 Hour Energy] last month when they announced they were departing NASCAR racing sponsorship after this year.
