Marussia Joins Caterham In F1 Toaster

While Caterham’s Formula One aspirations are effectively toast after this week’s announcement that their equipment and other F1-related items would be going up for auction beginning next month, Manor [The-Team-Formerly-Known-As-Marussia] was still harboring their own slim-to-none hopes that would allow them to miraculously resurrect the failed Formula One team. Those hopes were dashed on the rocks of the F1 Strategy Group, which denied their request to try and participate in the 2015 season using last year’s car, which is now illegal due to its nose design and other elements. That decision has essentially put the final nail in Manor/Marussia’s F1 coffin.

For Caterham, their F1 equipment and items will be sold at a series of online, timed auctions orchestrated by Wyles, Hardy & Co. that will take place between March 11 and May 14, 2015.

The first race of the 2015 Formula One racing season takes place in Melbourne, Australia on March 15, 2015.
