Max Verstappen Wins 2022 Mexican Grand Prix

Red Bull’s Max Verstappen and seven-time Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes engaged in a battle of tire choices as Verstappen’s Red Bull team’s selection ended up being the winning combination over Hamilton’s Mercedes team. Verstappen’s Red Bull teammate, Sergio Perez, finished in the third and final podium position. Only six cars of the starting 20 finished on the lead lap in the race.

With the victory, Verstappen now has 416 points and has already clinched the driver’s championship but spots two through six remain in contention as Perez has 280 points, slightly ahead of Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc with 275 points, followed by Hamilton’s Mercedes teammate, George Russell, with 231 points, then Hamilton with 216 points and Leclerc’s Ferrari teammate, Carlos Sainz, Jr., with 212 points.
