Red Bull’s Max Verstappen led start-to-finish to win the 2023 USA Grand Prix sprint race over seven-time Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes with Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc in the third and final podium position.
Verstappen began the race on pole position and once he fended off an attempt from Leclerc on the first turn, went unchallenged for the remainder of the race. Hamilton passed Leclerc on that same first turn and similarly went unchallenged for the remainder of the race to claim second place.
With the results, Verstappen, having already clinched the drivers’ title, adds eight points to his point total with 441 points over his Red Bull teammate, Sergio Perez in second place with 228 points while Hamilton edges closer to Perez with seven points and now has 201 points with Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso flailing in fourth place with 183 points.
