Mercedes Ends 2014 Season On Top With Abu Dhabi Test

Mercedes ended the 2014 Formula One season in the same manner as most of the season went – winning the driver and team season race, the final race at Abu Dhabi and now the final test as well. Mercedes sent 20-year-old reserve driver Pascal Wehrlein out onto the track at Yas Marina and Wehrlein responded by coming back with the fastest time of the day – a 1:42.624 average, beating Ferrari’s Raffaele Marciello by more than a half-second.

Meanwhile, McLaren’s new association with Honda for its F1 engines, produced mostly frustration at the Abu Dhabi test as they could only manage two laps on the final day of testing and recorded no time.

The new Honda-McLaren F1 car was unable to record a time in the final Abu Dhabi test period.

The first race of the 2015 Formula One racing season takes place in Melbourne, Australia on March 15, 2015.
