Mercedes returned to their normal dominant role and were the fastest two cars around the track in the second practice session for this weekend’s Formula One 2020 season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
Amongst the two cars, Valtteri Bottas led his defending seven-time Formula One world champion teammate, Lewis Hamilton as Bottas was 0.203 seconds quicker than Hamilton around the Yas Marina circuit.
Behind Mercedes were the Red Bull pair of Max Verstappen and Alexander Albon.
Both Mercedes drivers set their best times on the medium tire.
Hamilton did surpass Bottas’ time on one of his laps but had it deleted for exceeding track limits at the final corner.
