Mercedes was the fastest car again in the second practice session for this weekend’s 2020 Portuguese Grand Prix and just like in the first practice session, it was Valtteri Bottas who was leading the way.
The only real drama came when Red Bull’s Max Verstappen and Racing Point’s Lance Stroll collided as Verstappen was attempting to overtake Stroll – both are under investigation for their involvement in the crash.
Both Verstappen and Stroll were summoned to the stewards after the session to explain their role in the incident.
The crash caused a red flag stoppage – one of two on the day – the other for an earlier stoppage when Pierre Gasly’s Alpha Tauri caught fire.
