Mercedes has unveiled what is expected to be the winning car for the 2021 Formula One season and the car in which Lewis Hamilton will compete for his eighth drivers’ title.
Mercedes won 13 of last year’s 17 Formula 1 races and the new Mercedes W12 revealed today is an upgrade of that car.
Hamilton is, of course, the lead driver for Mercedes and he has racked up 11 more wins from last season to add to his 95 overall F1 wins and to go along with his seven world titles.
Hamilton is again joined on the team by Finnish driver Valtteri Bottas, who won two races last year and has nine total wins and 56 podiums in 156 F1 starts.
The Mercedes W12 will retain the car’s black anti-racism themed livery, from last year – which was a departure from silver in the previous years [Mercedes’ official racing color since the 1930s].
