Mercedes Wins Again At Singapore Grand Prix

It was the same old, same old in Formula One racing this weekend at Marina Bay as Mercedes won yet another race – the only difference this time was that only one of their cars made it to the finish line unscathed – as Mercedes retained their dominance on the circuit with a convincing victory from Lewis Hamilton while his teammate Nico Rosberg was saddled with electrical issues that prevented him from finishing the race. Hamilton’s easy victory was rarely in doubt and even a mandatory tire change in the last few laps failed to bring any drama as he made the change to a required set of tires and then easily passed four-time defending champion Sebastian Vettel to regain the lead and jet off for a 13.5 second win.

Vettel finished second for the second time this year and his teammate, Daniel Ricciardo notched a third place finish, putting two Red Bull drivers on the podium for only the third time this season.

In the season point standings, Hamilton vaults above Rosberg with 241 points to Rosberg’s 238 followed by Ricciardo in third with 181 points.

The 2014 Formula One racing season continues with the Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka on October 5, 2014.
