Miami Set To Host Grand Prix In 2022

After overcoming objections from local politicians and residents, Miami is finally set to hold the city’s first-ever Formula One Grand Prix in 2022 after Formula 1’s ownership group Liberty Media, secured a 10-year deal to race in Florida’s largest city.

The circuit will be a 3.36-mile track around Hard Rock Stadium, home of the Miami Dolphins National Football League team, and becomes the second race on the F1 calendar in the USA, joining the United States Grand Prix in Austin, Texas. A date for the Miami event has not yet been announced, although it is expected to be in June to coincide with the Canadian Grand Prix.

The race circuit was finally approved by Miami’s city council last week and includes measures to lessen the impact on the local population and environment.
