The Formula One racing track never killed seven-time F1 champion Michael Schumacher but the 44-year-old German auto racing icon is fighting for his life after a skiing accident in Meribel, France, over the weekend. Schumacher, who is also an accomplished skier, was skiing off-piste but fell and hit his head on a rock [he was wearing a helmet], eventually knocking him into a coma and requiring brain surgery. Schumacher is currently in critical condition in a French hospital and doctors will not know his short or long-term status until later in the week.
Michael Schumacher is the all-time Formula One racing championship leader, winning seven titles, the last one in 2004.
