Michael Schumacher’s Benetton F1 Car Up For Auction

Michael Schumacher’s Benetton Formula One car – the first in which he achieved a podium finish – is to be put up for auction. The Benetton Ford B191B was used by the German racing legend to finish third at the 1992 Mexican Grand Prix – in only the eighth race of his then-budding career. Schumacher went on to finish on the podium 154 time – 91 of which were as the winner – and the car itself was also driven by three-time F1 champ Nelson Piquet and current F1 television commentator Martin Brundle.

Bonhams, the UK-based auction house in charge of the sale, expects to car to retrieve between $300,000-375,000.

The Benetton Ford B191B will be offered at the Bonhams Bond Street Sale on November 30, 2014.
