UK-based Morgan Motor Company has collaborated with UK-based Piston Distillery to produce a gin – called Morgan x Piston – that is infused with ash wood shavings used in the formation of the frames on Morgan’s cars. Ash wood has been used as a part of Morgan’s production process [along with aluminum and leather] since they launched their first car in 1909.
Piston Distillery was founded in 2018 and is based a mere nine miles from Morgan’s factory on in Malvern, Worcestershire, UK.
Morgan x Piston Gin is bottled at 38% alcohol by volume [76 proof] and is said to contain notes of ‘natural crisp sweet apple and delicate wood’ from the shavings of ash.
Morgan x Piston Gin is being made available for $60 per 700ml bottle.
