Mullen Five To Debut At CES 2024

Electric vehicle startup Mullen will debut at the 2024 Consumer Electronics Show [CES] next week in Las Vegas.

The Mullen Five – first shown at the 2021 Los Angeles auto show – is an electric compact crossover designed to compete with the Tesla Model Y and Volkswagen ID.4.

Production is scheduled to take place in Mishawaka, Indiana, beginning in 2024 [they say] at a plant where AM General formerly built Hummers and the Mercedes-Benz R-Class.

Mullen claims that the Mullen Five RS version has more than 1,000 horsepower and a 0-60 mph acceleration in under two seconds, with a top speed of more than 200 mph.

Mullen has previously stated that the standard Five version will begin at $55,000 [with a range of 325 miles]. The standard Mullen Five is claimed to go 0-60mph in 3.2 seconds with a top speed of 155 mph.

Mullen already offers Mullen-branded electric vans and trucks for commercial use and recently acquired fellow EV startup Bollinger in 2022, with an intent to launch electric trucks under the Bollinger brand.

This year’s CES is currently scheduled for January 9-12, 2024 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
