NASCAR Asks Fans To Ditch Confederate Flag

NASCAR has asked fans attending their racing events to not bring the controversial Confederate flag as they try to disassociate themselves from the recent racially-charged tragedy in South Carolina where a shooter killed nine people in a church in Charleston last month. Daytona International Speedway will offer to exchange an American flag for anybody bringing in a Confederate flag to its race this weekend.

A Confederate flag flies in the spectator area at the NASCAR event last week in Sonoma, California.
