Nascar Camping World Truck – Kroger Stats + Preview

There have been 29 truck races held at Martinsville. The track hosted one race each year from 1995-2002 and then two events per season since 2003. Joe Ruttman won the inaugural race there, the Goody’s 150, in ’95.

Dennis Setzer, Mike Skinner and Kevin Harvick share the record for most truck wins at Martinsville with three each. Harvick is scheduled to compete in this race, driving the No. 14 Chevrolet for NTS Motorsports.

Denny Hamlin and Johnny Sauter have two truck victories at this track. Hamlin has won the last two fall races there. He is driving the No. 51 Toyota for Kyle Busch Motorsports this weekend. Sauter claimed his second victory at Martinsville in April. He also won last weekend’s race at Talladega Superspeedway.

Six truck races at Martinsville have been won from the pole, which is more than any other starting position there. Harvick most recently did it in the spring of 2012.

The closest margin of victory in a truck race at Martinsville occurred in April 2005 when Bobby Labonte beat Ricky Craven to the finish line by just 0.257 seconds.

Three drivers scored their first career truck victories at Martinsville: Hamlin (October 2011), Timothy Peters (October 2009) and Scott Riggs (April 2001).

Six drivers entered in this weekend’s race made their truck debuts at Martinsville: Peters (April 2005), Chris Jones (October 2007), Ryan Sieg (March 2009), Jeb Burton (March 2012), Brennan Newberry (March 2012) and Chase Elliott (April 2013).

Burton’s maiden pole in the series came at this track earlier this year.
