You may have heard that NASCAR has a new sponsor for 2017 – Monster Energy – and despite the opportunity to re-name their top series the straightforward Monster Cup, they instead decided to get all fancy pants and go with the Monster Energy Cup.
Formerly known as Sprint Cup, the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series will continue to operate in similar manner to the Sprint Cup as the top series in the NASCAR racing hierarchy.
